It’s best to avoid intense exercise during at least the first week.


Your body needs to focus on healing the gut, and stress — including physical stress from hard workouts — can interrupt this process.

You might feel more tired in the first week.

That’s normal.

Light movement like walking or gentle swimming is fine.

Let your body guide you as to when you start feeling ready for workouts, and remember to eat enough!

Strength training will be a good option when you feel ready, so that you maintain muscle mass.

How quickly will I notice changes?

Most participants start losing excess weight (if they have) within the first week).

Energy levels increase usually at the end of Week 1 or beginning of Week 2.

Digestive symptoms usually start improving in week 2, but it depends on the severity and condition present.

Is it okay if I cheat on the Gut Reset?

No — and here’s why:

This plan is designed to deeply heal the gut.

One cheat can set back the process significantly.

It’s not about perfection — it’s about giving your body the chance to fully recover.

How much weight can I lose on the Gut Reset?

Most people lose 4–8kg over the 28 days, which is a safe rate of fat loss for this plan (in the first week you may lose more, which is most likely water weight).

How much you lose depends on two things:

  • 1. How much weight your body has to lose

  • 2. Whether you consistently apply the lifestyle habits recommended during the reset

It’s crucial to eat enough and keep protein intake high—this protects your muscle mass.

If you lose weight quickly, it usually means you're losing muscle instead of fat, which is not what you want.

When you follow the reset properly, you’ll lose the maximum amount of fat your body is ready to let go of—without compromising your health or long-term results.

And if you still have weight to lose after 28 days, the Maintenance Plan will help you keep going.

When can I start?

I have a group that starts the first Monday of each month, but you can start anytime you want.


I recommend choosing a 4-week period with as few social temptations as possible (birthdays, weddings, etc.).


Also consider that you may have a headache on day 2 or 3, so if you want you can time that day 2 and 3 fall on a weekend.

Do I have to stick to certain portions or count calories?

No.


You’ll eat as much as your body needs. The goal is healing, not restriction.

That said, we do encourage you to keep your protein intake high — this protects your metabolism and muscle mass while your gut heals.

If you have SIBO, we also recommend to stay below a certain amount of carbohydrate per meal to prevent further overgrowth.

Will I have to give up coffee or wine?

Just for a while.

Alcohol slows down gut healing, so you’ll need to skip it for the 4 weeks.

Coffee can usually come back in week 4.

If coffee feels non-negotiable for you, message me and we can find a way that won’t sabotage your results.

Do I need special or expensive foods?

Not at all.


You’ll use everyday foods from any supermarket, plus a few gut-healing essentials like grass-fed bone broth and fermented, probiotic-rich foods (available online or at health stores).
